The showers are really nice. You have tons of hot water and u dont have to keep hotting a button to keep the water going. Also every shower stall has a heater in the ceiling to help keep u warm.
So if you are planing on going specifically for the tubing make sure you ask if tubing is open and running. My children were quite disappointed. They should have let us known prior to booking.
The atv trails are close by and were pretty fun to race around on. We enjoyed that aspect of camping. We were also planning on tubing on the st croix river which the campground readily informed us on prices and times but neglected to let us know that the tubing was closed due to the cold water temp and high water level. So i asked if it was from the recent rain and the lady at the front desk said "no it was closed the weekend before too."
About a hour later I went back, I saw a sign on the pool door that said closed for maintenance. When I ask the front desk lady when she thought the pool would reopen, she said probably tomorrow because they had to drain and treat it with chemicals. About 3 hours later I walked by the pool again and to my surprise there were kids and adults swimming in it.
Very nice resort, very nice people.
The camp grounds are nice. Fairly large in size and most have a culdasack style. It is ideal if camping with a group of people. Although some of the spots could be hard for a novice to park.
Nice clean place. easy check in. wish pool was open later and it would have been great when they emailed us to warn us it was the last day to cancel reservations that the tubing was closed for the year, instead waiting until we drove 2 hrs there to read it on a sign as we drive in the enterance. Would have brought 4 wheelers instead. I even went on the Web sight the night before we left and no notice was there warning us of no tubing. Not a ton to do otherwise in the area so we spent the weekend back and fourth to Duluth.
What a joke. Dont waste your time or money on this BS. Wish I could give 0 stars.
But make sure you shower well after you swim in their indoor pool.
Now I am not a pool expert but I dont believe that scooping out the turds with a net and throwing some chlorine in qualify as proper hazardous waste management protocol.
Live it here. Usually camp her at least once a year, sometimes twice. Great sites and extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Other than that we had a good time. A few things could have been better but things also could have been worse. Overall it was a decent place to camp.
While swiming with my kids to my dismay a big turd went floating by on the water. I immediately told my children to get out of the pool. We informed the front desk that they had feces floating around in their pool.
